Description

"Hi Folks! This exciting news just in... The Family Bartuzzi, one of the itinerant archaeological families of the Eridani Sector, has just sent these pictures of their amazing discoveries on Beta Eridani 3. These 500 metre towers whose function remains a mystery (originally five in total but only this one still stands), have been proved conclusively to be human in origin. This is demonstrated by the inscripton on the tower which is in an ancient human language called 'English'. This means the tower has to be at least 1500 years old, and belongs to the first wave of Galactic colonisation, before the Fall. Experts speculate that the towers may have been used for spacecraft construction, thus taking advantage of the extremely low gravity on Beta Eridani 3. A 60 minute feature follows this newscast..." Modelled and textured in Max 5/6, Rendered in Bryce 5. Composition and some post effects in Photoshop. Dunno where the hovership came from, I downloaded it sometime ago. Some textures have a distant connection to Svebor Sinka's (a.k.a. Svar00g) awesome Derelict spaceship material, 'USS derelict'. It's been a while since my last pic, but life has got in the way (Marriage, houses etc)! Hope you like it. Thanks for looking!

This is the most impressive Bryce image I've seen in quite awhile. The model itself is incredible. Great structure you have created. Perfect texturing you have applied, and I really like the addition of the smaller pics at the left.

Love the foreground models, especially the missing paneling and loops of cable. Any chance of revisiting the snow capped mountains? They don't quite work. Otherwise, excellent

Firstly, I wondering how on earth I missed this when you originally posted it..? Secondly, why you haven't continued with your sci-fi images - this is truly excellent... The modelling particularly is fabulous!
