Description

I went to a July 4th party in Manhattan. It was at an east side penthouse, the people, food, drinks, and views were all fantastic. The shots I took came out great. Only one problem I kept thinking what is this celebration really about, and what is the rest of the world thinking about the United States right about now. The center image which is not my own, but my tax dollars have unwillingly paid for, is the image that kept coming to mind when I tried to post one of the surrounding images. This is only one man

Not all the world thinks bad about the US, there is a huge diversity of views, and most people try to paint it as black & white either one way or the other. Their is good, and their is evil. And their is goodness from evil, and evil from goodness. You might like to read "iraqthemodel", its a web diary by two iraqi brothers. Look it up ver google, its fasinating reading. I read his posts regularly, he isnt alone either. __ Diversity of views, even amongst those we chuck bombs at. As for the picture, well composed and very strong message and feeling. As purely design asthetic, i have to say i find the stealth very pretty. But of course, its the symbolism behind its meaning that is ugly. Much like atomic bombs, the explosions actualy look pretty which batrays the horrors of their nature.

Powerful stuff. Beauty and violence. Stopping to respond makes the piece even more powerful. The complexity I am experiencing but would like to slide by comes into focus with the effort to respond. I probably would have excaped without responding except for Dark Flame. DF got into his/hers and the ambiguity that exists within and around everything. How much I want a clear answer, a clear picture of what shuld happen, of how it all could be. You shatter that with this piece. I'm grateful.

Wow Ryno! You have really come a long way here at RR! I haven't been here for a couple of months, and when I come back, what do I see? Jim Full has become a virtual guru! The man who initially was so blown away with all the creative energy here, now blazes us all away with his astounding experiments and unbelievable creative power. I said it before, and I say it again: You are a true artist Jim! My best best wishes! Danne

An amazing piece of work here. First, I am jealous since I have always wanted to take photos of fireworks. Maybe this year with my new cam. Next, I like how you framed that particular plane with the blasts....gets one thinking... Wow. :0)
