Description

hmm... I wonder what you think of this one!! :) I know this is very different!... from everything. It all started out as a lighting-test. I wanted to achieve some sort of strong, lovely daylight that I could use in my next render, but I fell in love with the concept in this one. Two reasons : 1 - I like the different aspect ratio and the huge size, so you can see all the details in the pinetree :) 2 - I like the concept of starting in the top of a tree, and just slowly moving down along the stem, constantly revealing something new until you reach the ground. I'm really, really looking forward to hearing what you guys think of this one! :) I fear that the scale and aspect ratio might scare quite a few people off, before they give it a chance? hmm...? www.thomaskrahn.com Thanks for viewing, and feedback welcome! :) Thomas

Looks like a photo!!! Very nice POV...unique. Well done. I wish Xfrog provided an accurate pine bark texture....Since I live in the south I suppose if I'd get up off my lazy @$$ I could go out back with the digi-cam & take a pic myself ;) LOL Excellent work Thomas :)

regardless the huge size, it looks to me like an thumbnail Image. It makes me wonder, how looks the whole Image. Nevertheless, it is as usual an excellent render and wonderful lighting.

Each scroll of the mouse provides a new image to view in detail. An interesting approach.

Woahhhhhhhh.... OOOFFF! oh, that hurt, but I think I'm OK. Boy, that was a long fall. Thanks for not putting any rocks down there :-). Very different from the norm, but I like it very much. The pine tree is supurb and the render is excellent (as always). My favorite part is the lighting at the base with the flowers. (That and the soft grass since I didn't know in advance to scroll "slowly") =)

Great POV.
The lighting is excellent.
The tree looks quite real. The surronding elements make it look like a snapshot.
First time I have
to scroll so much but it was worth it!
Excellent in all aspects!

Thomas, brilliant idea. And more than brilliant execution. Type bravissimo. But you could have made it even longer - so that we see the crown of that marvelous tree. Anyway, it is a brilliant idea.

I like the pic. It's very well done. The pine tree is superb and the mossy texture of the stone looks very real.
