Description
well this is the latest piece i have been suffering through. I modeled the image in Cinema then overpainted like crazy in Photoshop. I tried to 'mask' the fact that I used poser figures to help in rendering the people. Its a fairy tale which describes were nightmares come from. So there is this guy riding arround a modified flying 57 el dorado with filmstrip projectors on its hood that 'play' scary movies onto a sleeping childs closed eyelids.... Its not officially done but I am spent at the moment so I figured I'd post and hopfully get some crit. So please feel free to comment....

sensational! I love all the stuff on the car, and I particularly like the flickering skulls and the devil shadow. That kid's about to keep his parents up all night!

WoW! I Never Vote For Images But Cant Help It Here, This Gets A Vote! Cant Wait To See Whats Next.

fascinating work!!! You should work on it further. Right now the interaction between the kid and your "Nightmare machine" doesn't work perfectly. It does look like two separate images mixed together. The upper part is amazing, really original, while the "painted" foreground (kid in bed) is not as impressive, in my opinion.

your absolutly right audity, there is a disconnect that I have had a hard time reconciling... not sure what to do to remidy the situation, (color, blur, proximity??) I will think/work on it, thanks for all your comments!!
strata
Excellent work indeed!! If there is a change coming, I would suggest that you relit the car. There is only one light in the room and the car seems to have more separate lights? :))

Amazing work! Really original and imaginative. Like audity says there is a clear diskrepancy between the sleeping kid and the car. The kid looks like he's painted (very soft strokes) while the car has a more solid air to it, more sharp and tangible. One solution might be to give the car and its driver some more overall colour variation instead of that almost luminous white you have now (which makes it stand out very much). I also think strata is on to something important - the lighting. Keep the car lit by the room's main illumination and then place small light sources (make them visible - candles? flashlights? paraffin lamps) inside the vehicle, and let these sources reveal the details of the machine. Very good job!

aaa great observations folks!... cartesius, great ideas for the lighting. I needed some alternate light source ideas and I think you have some good ones. Perhaps I can 'overpaint' the car more and soften the image as a whole. "Ug" I am a little burned out on this one but I just cant stand not following through on an image. I really do think the image needs help in the areas you have mentioned. Thanks everyone!!! Ill repost sometime soon...

Superb stuff, very unique picture.

I think that this "painted like" foreground with the kid is GREAT... i must totally disagree with audity :-) This composition really looks brilliant as it is.
