Description

Well, for some time now I wanted to do a "war o the worlds" sort of image. I challenged myself to try an ocean view (ouch). The ship model is from Deespona but the rest of the scene was built by me. I did however canabalize some tractor parts from the Deespona CD to build the 'Arakn1D'. I also used photoshop for some overpainting. The image took a little more than a week. As always all comments and crits encouraged. O my son wanted a robot picture for his room so this is what he is getting...

I think any young man would be pleased to hang this image in their room.

Amazing work man, I Love this combination of war of the worlds with a way less recent type of time... you know galiens and stuff instead of war ship.

Very cool image indeed. Most excellent work. But as noted above the Ship has no Sails. Unless they have all been burnt to ashes by the giant robot.

Excellent work! How did U manage to create ocean's waves? I guess the ship is kind of ghost ship-it doesnt need any sails to move :)

Very funny - and very well done! I wondered about the title - but it's so fitting! The realism is very powerful here, and the humor is just the best! Excellent image!~

Ship can't move without sails! Add a couple to show movement. Don't add all the sails, just one or two on each mast, you don't want to distract the viewer, but it needs sails. Then it will look better.

Good stuff. A burning sail would add to the render.
