And to all ... especially a certain hobbit, who will remain nameless, Andy ... my smart-assed friend ...lol. This is not what my yard looks like. I pulled the barbecue out from the fence and this is what it looked like underneath. Note to self ... clean under barbecue.

I can hardly write for laughing ... what a tremendously well-told story!! Thankfully [as hobbit says] they don't hang around our backyards so we don't know quite how badly they niff. But it's a great picture ... he/she doesn't look too enchanted with the situation and I suspect I would not have ventured close enough to take the shot. Is there no way of shunting him/her off to your less-than-ideal neighbours' garden? That would really round off a terrific tale. vote

Oh the cute little skunks and ladies taking their pics!! For shame, for shame!!! Back in the 50's my uncle and aunt had one that wasn't even fixed, made a great pet and kept all the stray dogs away.lol

not an odorous ode but, instead, perfectly entertaining prose from pscott.....it's quite a gift to make 5 minutes on the trampoline and a bit of spray into such a hilarious account....congrats on the extra minute, pscott....please let us know when you hit the big 6

Ha-ha ! A good picture and a story that was so well written !! We do not have skunks in our country, but I could almost feel the terrible smell. You put your words so that I couldn't help but smile a little, even though I wish this thing didn't happen to you but to the NFH, hop they got a GOOD part of it;-).

That was a close call! It may have been you who got srayed,Pat! LoL! I used to catch skunks all the time in a cage. Did anyone know as long as they can't raise their tails above their bodies that they can't spray. Its true.. Great picture and bravery! :~)

Aah, what a gorgeous creature, I think skunks are so beautiful. Mind you, we don't have them here in England, so I've no idea what that smell is like, but he just looks so adorable. Your storytelling is so marvelous, I am right there with you while I am reading. Excellent photo, excellent story !!!!!
