This is an image (one of about 50) that my son took. I was going to put up one of the ones he took of me straightening my skirt, fluffing my hair, fixing my bra, making a face or yelling at him to quit laughing and just take the stupid picture ... but decided on this one instead.BIOI am a freelance writer and published author, from Canada. I also putter with web design and fractals. My friends cringe when they open their e-mail and see an attachment with the subject line "What do you think of this one?"
I also do public speaking and have a book published, on bullying, which came out this year. I speak in schools and for different organizations about bullying and writing and it's pretty time consuming but a lot of fun ... the kids are great. I also work for a major financial institution, I guess you could say in my spare time. :)
I have a website for the book, if anyone is interested in seeing what it's about ...

I'm hooked by the ongoing tale and can't wait for the next episode. I really admire this versatile lady's work, whatever the medium.

That is very cool, gotta love them litte birdies. I have returned many many birds to their nest and have not had one parent reject them. Had a cardinal mom, come to the back door area and check on the baby that was sick and we were tending too when I was a kid. She kept coming back when ever the little one would start chipping, when it got well, they flew off together!

I agree with everybody else here ... a stupendously cute image [baby birds always look so decidely - though lovably - grumpy] btw it's also beautifully presented. I also agree that the ongoing tale is fascinating and utterly compelling. But maybe [no, certainly], my friend, that's because you tell it so well. vote

Well... you know how much I love this shot, Pat!! Those little tufts of baby fuzz are impossibly cute!! I can relate to this image on a number of levels... perhaps because my dad always likes to say that the first moment he laid eyes on me after my birth, he turned to my mother and said, "She looks like an angry robin." LOL!! And it was true... I have proof... if you were to have my baby picture next to this one you'd swear we were twins... lol! This is a spectacular photograph and it surely gets my vote!! :) Please thank your son for me, too!

Such a stunning photo, looks like your son is as talented as you. After reading cynlee's comment, I had a vision of a whole truck-load of poo being dropped onto your neighbours from a great height, and the thought gave me MUCH pleasure !!! Your writing is brilliant by the way, and a joy to read.

Aw, he's so cute! So trusting the little ones are - til, unfortunately, experience teaches them to fly away from us. From his look, this isn't one of THOSE experiances and he trusts you. Sounds like your neighbors are a trip!
