With Beliz freed and leagues of the trek into Paleurevalla still ahead of them, Tylyra, Neuryneth and Elsbeth looked for transportation. They came upon a Tarkanian camp in the night and thought to quietly steal what they needed and move on. Their skills of stealth were good, just not good enough. The camp was watched by a skilled and silent guardian, one trained by Blackwolf's master assassin, Lord Blorrzeg. She descended upon Elsbeth without sound or warning and would have killed her instantly were it not for Beliz's protective spells. In the battle that ensued, the Tarkanians in the camp were all killed and The Harpies took their booty,... and their horses. The Assassin, however had been almost immediately neutralized by Tylyra's spells. They debated whether to kill her or just leave her to die in the cold, left as food for the wolves. Beliz struck on the idea of taking her back to Pellea where the group could take their time deciding her fate.

Zhing Hyi grew up in the shadow of a war lost, a people shattered, and a future uncertain. After the fall of Blackwolf and The Black Witch, it took no time at all before the Tarkanian chiefs were at each other's throats again. The tribal confederation crumbled and those that could escaped the pillaging of the southern kingdoms by retreating into the mountains. Hyi grew up on the run, moving from one temporary village to another, living on horseback more than on the ground. She would have been no more than a play thing, a trophy for some warlord's fur rugs, were it not for a chance encounter with a band of demons tracking down one of the generals of the Wolf Horde army. The leader of the demons had once been one of BlackWolf's agents, his chief assassin, the Cambion Lord, Blorrzeg Baalreannor. The demon Lord saw something in her eyes perhaps, for he took her back with him to the Abyss. For long and indescribable years of torment and pain, she learned the deadliest of arts and was returned as an agent of the Demon Prince Graz'zt. During her time in the Abyss, the magics of the realm and the poisons in the very air she breathed changed her. When she came back to Arrallon, she was a different creature, a thoughtless killer with an odd reddish tinge to her skin and eyes that were blank and unfeeling.

It took months. Initially all their trust was in the magical charms they used to keep her under control. But eventually, Danai's more subtle Erotic charms took hold. Warmth and love from this sorority of misfits began to undo what years of demonic magic had done. With her mind finally free, Hyi became a dedicated and deadly member of their band of girlfriends. She became the Assassin of The Harpies, the last of the nine.
