Description
This is a photo of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

It provides a footpath and cycleway linking Newcastle Quayside with the cultural development at Gateshead Quays, including the Baltic Centre. You can see the Baltic Centre through the eye of the bridge. It is a stunning conversion of a 1950's flour mill and provides the biggest temporary art space in Europe.
The bridge was first opened to the public in September 2001. It is the first opening bridge to have been built across the River Tyne for more than 100 years.
