Description

They met when Samboba just started tagging along. She found the odd little creature good company. He was funny with his metallic squeaky voice always humming, or singing to himself. He had never shown any particular talents, other than being reasonably good at seeking the right trail. One morning, as Samboba wandered along the Spikes of Ungar, looking for a passage, he heard screams. Returning to find the Princess being attacked by Rock Giants, the diminutive buglike fellow lept upon a boulder, his hands glowing an eerie blue. She never saw how it happened, but there was a loud crackle, a bright flash and a gigantic explosion that shook the ground. A few moments later, there lay hundreds of rocks where the Giant had stood. The other two stared down at where their leader had been. Not only had Samboba destroyed the Giant, there was now a clear swath cut straight through the Spikes. "What happened?" the princess kept asking her companion. He would only shrug, feigning ignorance. She somehow felt that Samboba knew, but nothing she had ever heard of could cause such destruction. Following the peculiar little guy, K'seesha held The Gift tightly, as they passed under the stunned gaze of the two remaining Rock Giants. They navigated the newly cleared path in the Spikes of Ungar and headed west. Samboba singing and occasionally dancing, fell under the watchful eye of the Lost Princess. She was wary, yet not frightened and often caught herself laughing, as he would do a fancy dancestep and then fall flat on his face. *** I have new respect for comic book artists who do this regularly. One page took too much work to render and arrange. Made the Rock Giants in ZBrush. Samboba is my poseable metaball guy.

Great work! It must feel like a "Never ending tale my friend...a tale that will never end" illustrating comics. The story is well written. Just enough adjectives to keep it interesting.

Excellent style in this pictures. Very professional look. Make me think to Moebius (Jean Giraud).

Fantastic imagery, and the story, a very good read. I look forward to more! I love the texture look of the rock creeps and how you chose to make them darker than the surrounding landscape, very good exploration keep em coming!

Awesome characters and stories, and I agree with you on the comic book thing. I've tried it and it's very time consuming indeed...

Everything about this is wonderful. VOTE! (might have been fun if you'd made the big rocks in the background look a bit like they almost could be monsters if they weren't rocks, just a hint of menace!)
