Description

For those who've been following the series on the chimney pot house, here is the reason I changed from 'Maison' to 'Haus.' What I thought, in an earlier image, was a face, turns out to be a floral pattern. (Take a good look at the thumbnail to see what I mean.) Moreover, we zoomed in really close and are now able to read the inscriptions which are in German. Looking at this 'theme,' I have to wonder if the mystery resident collects funereal/mortuary items as well as roof decorations. The thing that really intrigues me now is the statue. Oritinally I thought it was pharonic-style image. Not so. I can't recall seeing anything quite like it before. Is there some significance to it in Germanic countries? (Discovered that the statue is St. Fiacre. Irish monk/abbot moved to France. Is recognized as patron saint of gardeners. Also has connections with herbalists and healers. Given the nature of the slabs . . . rather natural to want a healer around.) Enjoy; thanks for viewing. Ever more puzzled, The Weese.
