Yeah - if you say so :o) I never knew there was such detail in that headpiece - you have given it new life! Rome looks sensational with that hair you have given her (which must have taken quite a while) and the background texture compliments the scene superbly! It's good to experiment! EXCELLENT!!!

That background looks identical to a black and silver lace I purchased in San Francisco back in '85! Cost $20 per yard back then!! She's fantastic and I love the gem work, personally I don't think it's too much! You kept everything else simple and even her hair is simple although complex in design! Magnificent, Joel!!

That headdress looks fantastic, the gems are great. I think that a refraction shader with a high refraction index (something like 2.0, that's about right for diamond) and a strong raytraced reflection could up the shininess of the gems a bit.
Her face, makeup and hair fit the headdress very well. Tastefully done!
