Description

Hey all, I haven't uploaded an image in ages so I think I am overdue . Anyways here is an image that I created based on a watercolor on a calendar I have. Everything was modeled in carrara. I wanted a very mild water color/realistic look. The lighting could use some work but I think it turned out okay. Very little postwork in the image. Hope you like it.

I like it, I like it. The sense of depth is very good, something I have been working on with limited success. This turned out really nice. Thanks for sharing.

I'm curious how you made the ground/road. I.E. what does the wireframe look like?

Thanks for the comments. As for the road, the entire ground(Road, driveway and grass)is one vertex object. The road has a separate shading domain as does the driveway and grass. I exported the road shading domain out of carrara's uv editor and then created the texture map for it. I had to add the grass texture to the perimeter of the road's texure map to blend from road to grass. It worked out okay, maybe I will post the wire frame of the road in the carrara forum if you would find helpfull.

Really nice Mike! You have captured the watercolour feeling. I like also the point of view. The only thing that i don't like is the sky, but because i don't like very much the sky editor of CS, not your skill. I'd like to see a NPR version:-)

Nice work. It has a wonderful subtle texture. I think you captured the water color painting well.

Thanks for the comments. TOXE, I really didn't spend alot of time with the sky so yes it could be improved ,I agree. I did try using the NPR but carrara got hung up (the trees I think) . I only tried doing an npr render once so if I reopened the file it should work . I thought of a mix of npr(for scene) and toon(for the buildings)
