Description

A tiny little Crab Spider waiting for a small fly to land on the flower. I wish I had a higher resolution cam to get right in on the Googly eyes with more clarity. It's two middle eyes are red and the rest are black.

Yep, I see the difference in the color of the eyes... Such a cool position he's taken! Seems very delicate, this beaut of a spider :))) Your POV makes it a fantastic composition. Great detail on the pollen and the wisps of web (?) Superbly done :)

Well exactly, the DOF was naturally challenging and insufficient, but it does cover the most critical territory here ~ and these gals are SMALL ... I had one surviving with seven remaining legs in the marigolds on my deck last Summer, and I made a lot of practice shots, few of them were much good to anyone but me (although YOU might enjoy a few of the better ones), so I KNOW this is a difficult shot ... there may not a lot of salvation you could get even from equipment upgrades, unless you seriously specialize in microphotography, however thoughtful composition and cropping can capitalize on a good intial shot ~ but as far as I am concerned - you basically got this one! If nothing else, that yellow green subject on that purple maroon ground is a fantastic situation, that also really gives us a dimensional attraction to the focal plane!
