Description

A recent move surfaced several mementos made important over the years. Treasures representing different aspects and phases of a life. Some unto themselves important, others merely representations, but each relevant. This is my first attempt at creating something rather than capturing moments of opportunity, and must add it was a delightfully nostalgic undertaking. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Excellent photo and light! I understand what unstrung65 says, but it is undoubtedly not easy to summarize a life with some objects and you surely had to eliminate some much from others.

ah, missed it, glad to find it again, cuz i tend to be a knick knack eclectic collector kinda of person & a little snoopy... some fine treasures, well read (what's the titles, or are they for show?), music, science, thought, smoke, love, patriotism... well rounded... cool still life & well captured! now to sketch it right ;]

I like your composition a lot, and I love the lighting. I think a somewhat lighter background, or at least a different color, might help some of the objects stand out a bit more, and make them easier to see. Perhaps a rich burgundy, midnight blue, or deep silver-grey.... The velvet texture really helps in creating the soft, warm feel of it, I think. I can't really tell what the statuette on the right is - it looks like something (or someone?) sitting on a stack of books, maybe? And please, do tell about the stethoscope! It makes me feel nostalgic, and they're not even my things! Thanks for sharing it with us.
