Oh would there be tall grasses to sit and ponder a day,
I'd sit with thoughts of you and I and Springs of yesterday.
Oh if there could be tall grasses to hide away my guilt
I'd gather them and weave them into a sinner's quilt.
Oh would there had been tall grasses to meet and rendesvous
I'd run into tall grasses to fall in love with you.
Oh if I had a patch of tall~tall grasses, to spend
eternity, I'd sit in those tall grasses if you
would sit with me.
