BobbyStahr aka Robert Purves was seduced into computers late in life(age 45) by a free Amiga 1000 that I needed to transcribe music with. When that was done one thing led to another and 18 months later due to a need for speed and Imagine porting over I jumped to a pc. Never looked back happy to say. I play no games, have no business software, just art and music. BIO I use Imagine a lot, Photoshop quite a bit, Vue6I PLE a bit also, and have played a bit with the free ver. of Cinema4D, and am recently enamored of the new TG 3 Free. I also write copious amounts of music in an awesome and inexpensive music writing software called MelodyAssistant, available at http://www.myriad-online.com The hyphen is part of the URL. Highly reccomended to anyone, musician or not. I got into art from sports at an early age when I discovered I was more into cooperation than competition...my mission statement is" Never go straight.....Go Forward...."

You have done a lot of work for this picture, using many programs and techniques ! It looks like a place for meditation. Nice picture.

Wow, Bobby - you really do have too much time on your hands, lol... but the result is lovely! My only suggestion is that the lighting on the left most tree is very white, and it's source doesn't seem consistent with the lovely sunrise. Perhaps a bit of angled back lighting in a nice cranberry mauve? Regardless, it's all very pleasant!

Tien,...that tree has an ambience map I forgot to turn off and was gonna post it down but wanted a "pure" example of what comes from terragen's hdr plugin thru thr lightball utility. Manu,...the whole thing only took a few hours of rendering and testing, with conversions going fairly fast as a rule...total tome fron idea to finished render would be around 16 hours...not to shabby. SB,....thanx very much....all the others as well...appreciate the feedback...

yep, very complicated way to make a terrain. Everybody has his own protocol. Here I like the way the water connects realistically with the ground, at least in the foreground. But the sky color, hmm, I cannot say it fits well unless, wait a minute...is it on Mars ?

it's a sunset really...just the way the lightgen read the terragen information from the .hdr...looks very like the terragen render as a matter of fact.thanx for checkin it out
