Me and my beloved sailor...never so far apart....never so close.

Although I've been a member here a long time, I have had little opportunity these past few years to savor the joy of posting my art and commenting on the work of those I admire and have had a friendship with. Family and medical has taken precedence in my life, even to the point of not being able to sit long enough at a computer to work. So now that things are looking a bit brighter and I am feeling better, I hope to once again post and comment! I have so missed this circle of talented people with their warmth of soul and passion of art. -- Feb. 22 ' 08

Gorgeous! Not only is the photo stunning and powerful in showing the upcoming storm, but I agree with your take on man not being able to control that type of power, though obviously we don't want people hurt either. Brilliant shot!

I too love a good storm. The inhabitants of earth are subject to it's whims and moods! If your strong enough - you ride the storm, if not, you drown in the riptide.

We've just gone through a series of storms here in Manchester UK ... I sat in my garage watching the sheer power of the elements. This shot captures the electric brooding atmosphere very well indeed.

Very ominous and beatiful. One of those reminders not to mess with mother nature or you might get a lightning bolt in the butt. :-)

I love storms. I used to sit and watch them for hours. A branch coming through the window in front of me dimmed my enthusiasm for wind but I still love lightning.

A very dramatic combo of serenity and impending doom. Wonderful shot and I really enjoyed your comments. :o) CC

Me too a storm lover. The picture is very good. The power of nature stops me everytime to feel respect.

Take this kiss upon the brow!/ And, in parting from you now,/ Thus much let me avow--/ You are not wrong, who deem/ That my days have been a dream;/ Yet if hope has flown away/ In a night, or in a day,/ In a vision, or in none,/ Is it therefore the less gone?/ All that we see or seem/ Is but a dream within a dream./ I stand amid the roar/ Of a surf-tormented shore,/ And I hold within my hand/ Grains of the golden sand--/ How few! yet how they creep/ Through my fingers to the deep,/ While I weep--while I weep!/ O God! can I not grasp/ Them with a tighter clasp?/ O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave?/ Is all that we see or seem/ But a dream within a dream?/ (Edgar Allan Poe)
