The Dark Wing Ships of the Dark Wing stand high-guard over the Enemy world Junction-4 as it's cities and factories burn. As the Second InterStellar war erupted the Enemy invasion fleets were rolling up the worlds of the Imperial frontier relentlessly. The Imperial Navy scrambled to rush reinforcements to the front to try and stop the tide of destruction. Terrifying stories were coming from the few who managed to escape from the conquered worlds. The Enemy was using the captured populace as "food that can work." Against the advice of his council, the Emperor Franz IV recalled the 92 year old Fleet Admiral Ernesto Patel from retirement. Admiral Patel was given an Imperial Warrant and command of the Dark Wing and ordered to destroy the enemy's ability to wage war. The Dark Wing was formed from the Empire's best ships with prize crews of volunteers.
