Description

Modeling, textures, lighting, render: Strata 3D CX Post work: Ulead PhotoImpact XL The Strata Cafe held a challenge to create some sort of a western scene; this was my entry. The Cafe members graciously voted it into 2nd place, and I am deeply honored and humbled. First place went to Dale Schulz who created an amazingingly creative "toonish" scene. This piece was Radiosity rendered in 1.5 hours at 4x the current size and then resampled down in post work with bicubic sampling in PhotoImpact XL, to handle all necessary Anti-Aliasing. I also applied some "levels" adjustment, as well.

I don't understand why so few comments????? Your work is really fantastic. I didn't know Strata had such a good rendering algorithm - looks very realistic. Great job and nice looking! Keep up the good work :)

This is one of my favorite images that you've created. Of course, I'm a sucker for the Western theme. I'm particularly impreseed by the great detail on the star. The rendering is amazing, although I would like just a little more light on the bullets. The paper texture could use a little more bump map, but the wrinkles are AWESOME. I love that little crimped edge along the top, and the bubbles. This image inspired me a lot when I created the new banner for my Website. Excellent work! VOTE
