Description
This Dahliya is dedicated to my friend Vjerana.
Unfortunately this friend of mine who happens to be popular with the masses in Bryce because of her sweet and humble nature and went to the Hot 20 many a times was being bashed up by some miscreant members of the Bryce gallary who thought her Bryce work lacked technical skill only because she preferred doing Surreal work. Their constant attack and her clarification about her level of skill bore no fruit. The attacks continued. She finally deleted her Gallary today and shut out her Bryce. It's a shame. When I used to work with Bryce, I faced similar critism by some of the so called pro. I had time and again repeated in my posts that what I was doing was to get an idea across and was in no way trying to outshow my technical skills which I lacked. I was the best I could be being self taught and by spending very little money on my hobby.
I personally feel if I can make a powerful statement with just a stroke of a brush I am a better artist than those that create massive projects using 400 spheres and 200 fills taking 78 hours to finish the render.
Art knows no boundarys. Bryce, poser, 3d max.... what are they?? but a tool. You are supposed to use a tool and not worship the tool. The tool must accomodate to your call not you bend to it.
Anyway, a sad day today but I wish my dear friend well and hope one day seh changes her mind and comes back.
This Pic of Dahliya, I have done quite a bit of post work. Removed the background, added 9 layers to fix the frame. The basic inspiration for the post work comes from our great Cynlee.
To be very honest, I was working on this flower to make a dedi to Cynlee one day. I am sure Cyn would be happy to learn I did this as a dedi for Vjerana who is a common friend.

A very beautiful and meaningful dedi. Art is always up to the individual, and I think it's wrong for so called "pros" to dictate terms to other enthusiasts. I hope your friend can continue to do what she likes with Bryce! A magnificent flower, perfect focus, and I have no idea how you did that with the border, but it's just amazing V

This beautiful flower almost appears to be crying! I know I am after seeing all this happening to a lot of wonderful artists and people on RO! Very nice tribute to a wonderful lady and superb Bryce artist! I will really miss her and her work..such a shame :(

i am glad you did this for vjerana & so sad that she's removed her gallery, had heard there was a witch hunt going on in the Bryce gallery/forum, & several others i enjoyed viewing were chased away too... :( a dissappointment in the thoughtlessness of a few to the community & the world of art... now as to your work here... i am so pleased to see how much creative thought you put into this with the many layers, well done & well said... POSTWORK LIVES & should live happily & in peace next to the pure ;] hugz vj!

I know how you feel Raj, for it hurts my heart also that adult bullies acting like children manage to push people around! I too await Vjera to come back with a bang and I will miss her beautiful bryce works too! Gorgeous shot, love the postwork!!

Sad story of people chasing others. They'd better do something constructive, destroying is much easier than building something. Better a simple action of an artist like you than many hours of cpu time for a series of formula's! Excellent and comforting dedi, Raj, very sweet of you! Excellent work out of New Dahliya!

Excellent job SNAKEY!!!! I agree with the things you've said, it's unfortunate that these things have to happen at all, but especially here on Rendo where you'd hope we can all appreciate our individual uniqueness. It is however a sad commentary on the way a lot of people interact these days. I hope your friend reads your dedi and the many comments here to bring her some sort of comfort! She should know this: "Don't be afraid of opposition, for a kite flies against the wind not with it" fly on....

It really is a shame Raj, because when she removed her gallery the bullies won. I don't understand the reasoning for their attacks, nor do I understand why admin wasn't contacted and shown these attacks. I can only hope she reads this and decides to upload once again. The IM's and comments can be shown to the proper authority. Personally it sounds like sour grapes to me. Vjerana please reconsider and don't let them win. Gorgeous flower! And that frame must have taken a while to get that effect, also real nice. As for this woman you mention (Vjerana), I'm sorry she was bullied into deleting her gallery, I never saw it, but now wish I had, since so many posts here speak of her beautiful personality and talent. I pray that she comes back...maybe not in Bryce, perhaps she will discover other talents!
