Description

**After a malfunction of the first probe's descent to the surface of Arret Ehtnax, a second probe has been dispatched and will descend in a region of interest in the northern hemisphere. Region 42 is of special interest because of what appears to be highly geologically active landforms. The multitude of twisting ridges has intrigued scientists and caused concern that there may be too much geologic activity in this region. Studying the region may give scientists more clues as to the overall activity of this planet and offer insight into regions that may be more stable and thus more suitable for manned exploration and colonization. We are running out of time. The lander's descent will begin shortly...** Continuation of the storyline of my 'Satellite Imagery', me109's 'Last Hope', my 'Lander's Descent' and me109's 'Alien Artifacts VII - The Living Mountain' pics. Even though I used the same planet name of Arret Ehtnax, I did not use the Xanthe Terra terrain. This is a world machine terrain. Enjoy! This one is for Matthias, for I have had much fun taking turns with you on this series! --Mike

The surface looks very realistic - maybe some changes - using a displacement-map - would make it a 100% realistic ;-)

Wow Mike, this time it is up to me to thank you :) Awesome Terrain and very convincing Surface. So you keep the story open ended,... for now :) If the attempts on Barnards Star to comunicate with the Living Mountains fail, let's hope mankind can colonize this world... :)
