Try reducing the amount of "bump" on surfaces. Will smooth out the grainy appearance of colors. Fun idea and nice atmo.

My guess ia that isn't strata, but textures stacked ar varying heights. Bump is OK on upper surfaces (I use it a lot). Interesting.
