Description
I made this cannon competely out of NURB surfaces. It is made of quite a few. I then used the blastcode plugin to cause an explosion at just the time a scaled round ball hit the cross member of the cannon. It is a pretty cool effect considering I did it on a laptop and used Maya's stock shaders.

Since when do cannons explode when they are hit by a muskets bullet and what is that thing blocking the muzzle? The cannonball? Cant be. That should be much deeper in the barrel. :o

This is a frame of an animation. It is not really a still picture. Imagine this running at 24 frames per second.

it doesnt look like it got hit by anything, looks like it just blew up. wouldnt it have dun damage to tha wheel? good idea, just isnt very realistic.

good start; the chips are coming off the carriage..only thing (and it's minor) is that the inside diameter of the barrell's a bit too wide, I'd inset the interior diameter until it looks about 5-6" wide, the rest should be solid iron (those things were THICK..;) great modeling, keep it up.

Nothing like blowing things up just for the fun of it, heh.

good effort at modeling. I am impressed by the debris being released in your explosion. Maya's shatter effect can only produce ten separate parts. How did you make the hundreds that I'm seeing?
