Too complex and deep to come to terms with. My son and I were talking about certain world events and conditions, as well as the political and moral ramifications. Though we are at opposite poles, we agree that false pride (an ethnocentric perspective), power and greed figure prominently. A powerful image, Dirk. The deliberate design and eerie shadowplay, as well as the [symbolic] red background speak volumes. An outstanding piece of work.

Yeah, what she said! Lol, just kidding. I do see volumes in this, though. Thats what I like about this kind of work. It means something different to everyone. I see the eagle and the bell, both symbolic. There are none so blind as those who will not see. I know I've said that before, but it is too too true to forget. I love the way it makes one think.

Impressive and most evocative work, Dirk. As your red background seems to suggest, the price of pride is most often paid in blood, with a subsequent medal or heraldic device to commemorate and perpetuate that substitute for reasoning and searching for truth and alternatives.
