Description


The first stagecoaches appeared in London around 1640 and in Paris around 1660.At the height of their popularity, they were most widely used in the U.S. and in England. By 1828, they ran no less than 12 times a day from Leicester to London. In the U.S., they were the only means of travel for long distances overland, carrying passengers and mail to locations especially in the West.
