Description

My first try at a HDRI image. The light in the middle kind of messed up the picture, but I think it turned out pretty good. I am gonna tweak it some more. I would love some pointers on how to setup the HDRI GI and the radiosity settings better. Please, help me out with any tips, even if they do not pertain to this image. Thanks! PS- I wouldn't mind some help with the wood material either.....

OH yeah, I forgot. Can yall also help me out with Depth of Field settings. I faked it in this image with photoshop. I would like to achieve the same effect (better hopefully). I enabled the DOF in the render settings, but it doesn't seem to do much. I do not know what to pu into the settings. Thanx, again!

Fantastic work. Love the reflections you got in your render. I have just started to use C4D and I know what you mean about the DOF settings, they're a nightmare LOL! Top work.

Thanks for the comments and the ratings. They really mean alot to me. Looks like we are all learning together. I am searching for a good tutorial on DOF. If I find one, I will post the link. Tanks again!

Hey! im just a begginer... watch my renders and youll see. So, i cant give you any hints. Just say your work is great! the lighting is very impresive, and the model is very real. Shure this is a realistic realistic render!

DOF is achieved by putting a camera object in your scene then rendering through it's view.Took me a while to figure that out. As for HDRI,GI and radiosity settings I'm new also and all the tutorials I've found so far haven't help me much. Good luck and great render.

You need to turn on DOF in the Render-Settings to see the results. Just select "Depth of Field" from the popup-menu on the top-right in the "Effects-Menu". But I guess you figured it out until now. Really great mouse model by the way. I love it!

Thanks. I had it set in the render settings, but I didn't have a camera in the scene...duh! I figured it now, but thanks for all the help. I have found really good advice at CGTalk.com forums, too. They even have some great links to video tutorials.
