Description

A look to the other side reveals the unattainable mountains of the Bernese Oberland. Not quite unattainable, but without additional equipment you cannot reach the top of it. This ridge belongs to the Lauteraarhorn, 4042 meter high (13474 ft). There's little snow on it, the hot summer of 2003 uncovered the summits except some glaciers. Reminds me of when I was a small boy and hiking on Volksmarches in Germany. I don't think we ever went this high though. What a grand view! (sips from canteen) Allright, let's keep going!

I amuse myself sometimes at a contest to land on the summit with a vehicle or span the crags with a spyder machine. Could a Harrier land on Mt. Everest. Though helicopters are limited as to ceiling so are VTOL's in ground effect hover. For now only pitons, and bolts allow the rock to yield in noisy rattle of ropes, carabiniers and cables.

so beutiful! excellent compo! I love how captured this place...how the three mountains have come together to for this summit.I enjoy looking particularly at that "unattainable" mountain. Why? I like its shape which reminds me of coal. and i love its pastels. Everything looks attainable here...the clouds, the mountains, the sky. I would try to touch that cloud if I were on the top of Bernese Oberland. Perhaps i might reach it.

Yesterday, I meet a guy with an "explosive self proudness".. You put this kind of man in this landscape and you even don't see him as he is tin... Magestuous shot, as ever ! the right dimension of our smallness V
