Description
Well I went back by Swan Lake & Iris Gardens today to get some more shots. This is a Whooper Swan (Cygnus cygnus). I just loved the pose this one was doing, but I couldnt get to close,cause of all the Canada geese between me and this one. Now a little about this swan. Very long-necked and large swan which makes a loud honking and trumpeting call. Although graceful on the water, the heavy whooper swan requires long stretches of open water to take off and land, and manoeuvers poorly in the air. It ranges across northern Europe and Asia, and gives a trumpet-like call when flying. Hope you enjoy.
