Description

Are you not tired yet? We've ascended about 500 meters and approach the Nägelisgrätli at 2634 meter (8641 ft). It's time to take a little rest and look back to the west. The Lauteraarhorn hides a bit behind the clouds but we can see the Unteraargletscher (the Lower Aare Glacier) in front of it, feeding the Grimselsee with that special greyish color (water with outwash we call 'glacier milk'). The Grimselsee provides together with many other reservoirs a lot of power for Switzerland. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 35 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

no...not tired either! Glacier milk???? hehe. it DID kind look like that in your previous image. This is such a beautiful place...even more so since it gives power to so many people. It looks like you could look forever here and never see a soul. it feel a bit lonely...but it's a glorious spot!

I wonder how the water turbines wear with the "glacier milk" abrasive. I can hear the powerhouse in the background rumbling and churning away cavitation free. The view then becomes that more natural and remote.
