Description

Ok, this is the last time I am posting this image, but I had to do a version with the castle only. This is the way it looks best in my opinion. Hope you like it. (Oh, and now the file is 50 meg instead of 300 meg) Just a little added benefit.

I made the mountain, using several Bryce terrains. The terrains used here were set at 1024 resolution and generated using the metamorphism fractal generator. I generate each one till it makes a pattern I like, then I bring it into the picture and tilt it up about 45 degrees and spin it till it looks like I want. (Yes you can see the flat bottom and edges at that point) I then place others around it in a cluster until all edges or gaps are covered. For texture, I used a photograph of some huge eroding dirt piles by my house, which look like little mountains. Thats basically how I do most mountains, but I use varying fractal generators for different types. The metamorphism one used here is great for rocky mountains with no trees.

Agreed, this is my favorite of this castle as well! And what a castle it is... A masterpiece, your mountains are beautiful, your castle looks fantastical, and the bony gnarled trees are a great touch!

I like this one the best. It leaves the viewer open to self-interpretation of a storyline (being a writer!) Love those trees and so...like...how much is the rent here? :D

Great ! Very great ! This is by far my favorite of this castle serie. Deleting characters add strength to the picture indeed. And all your great work on modeling castle, moutains, trees, setting textures and light is best shown. I'd like the both characters in foreground in your previous picture though. Hope one day I will be able to do such beautiful pictures. (Thanks to you I'd bought Bryce5. :) )
