Description

Arriving on the ridge of the Nägelisgrätli at 2634 meter (8641 ft) we get a better view on the southwest. We can see here the upper part of the Rhônevalley, that disappears behind the mountains in front of us. Notice the cumuli being formed above the mountains, on the left and on the right; the valley remains in the sun. The colors on this shot are terrible. :( I can't get them as they are on the original slide. The blue haze is only little surpressed by the UV-filter. Perhaps I'd better make use of a polarisation-filter. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 50 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

I don't think the colors are terrible at all!! Actually, the scenery you've been giving us is just awesome! Polarizing filters are always a plus, though..... :0)

What a series this is. Getting higher now but I'm still not tired, come on Jan up a bit further now, we need to see more. The colours are not that terrible, a little bluish is all.

did you say the colors are terrible? that's what i thought. I disagree. They're gorgeous to me, and my eyes are quite pleased!!! And those clouds...sigh...so beautiful! This image brings back memories of my paternal grandparents who once lived high atop a mountain (well maybe not so high like this) and the view below into the valley was spectacular! i want to go a little higher too...to reach those clouds on the right. i want to touch them. Most impressive capture!

Near and far in true position. This is hard to disguise in a scale model where the perspective is aligned to compress the distance to cheapen the set. Let the photograph seek it's own level.
