Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 Since there's a big hurricane fixing to knock on my doorstep 2nite, I figured the occasion called for a spiral - though this one spins clockwise rather than counter-clockwise. Minor detail - lol. This one is an attempt to emulate the styles of two great fractal artists that I admire - Gilles Nadeau and Mint - and a bit of a return to more fractal roots. The brown shades reflect the brown hues Gilles often uses and I like a lot and the texturing uses the "fbm Popcorn Trap" ucl by Mark Townsend of Apophysis fame that I admired in viewing Mint's excellent work over the years. The base formula is "Cubic Julia2" in the "spr.ufm" folder and there's a layer of "Doodads" ucl by Dennis Magar in the "ldm.ucl" folder overlaid. Wow, check this...only FOURTEEN layers! I be slackin'! lol Thanks for stopping by and I'll "see" y'all when they fix the electricity around here - took 6 days last time but I should be able to check in from work maybe mid-week. Provided I still have a roof 2morrow - knock on wood! Take care, everyone and stay safe! It's like a peek inside my grams treasure box. Soft brown velvet that nestles pearls and tiny bits of jewelry. The most presious memories stored there are the pressed leaves from her herb garden....what a beautiful comp. Stay safe.......

Two of my favorite artists, and I love Gilles' formulas. You did them proud here! Elegant and intricate and oh so excellent! Rich and beautiful colors and texture, fantastic combination of forms- love the pearls, bay leaves and overall spiral design, and the lighting is superb. Another WOWx3 composition, Rick! You and Joie stay safe and dry!

Just beautiful. I am also an admirer of Giles Nadeau and I can definitely see his influences here. Beautiful brown tones and textures. Just awesome! :)
