The falling leaves drift by the window The autumn leaves of red and gold I see your lips, the summer kisses The sun-burned hands I used to hold Since you went away the days grow long And soon I'll hear old winter's song But I miss you most of all my darling When autumn leaves start to fall "Autumn Leaves" lyrics by Johnny Mercer (1909 - 1976) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This Virginia Creeper on my garage wall takes on some lovely colours at this time of year. Lovely autumn leaves so beautifully presented! i love the Virginia Creeper... we have it growing on the wall in the backyard but it's still green right now. Did a few postings to the gallery last autumn :o)

How utterly beautiful! I love these colors. I love the poem as well. It made me feel melancholy. Very well presented. I think I may have to check into getting some virginia creeper.

Love this image Gordon. This stuff grows like wildfire and clings to walls! But, the colours are so beautiful! I saw a cottage down on the Kent/ Sussex borders, with the creeper running riot all over the house and the brick walls and wooden gates. I don't know how the owners could even see out of their windows, but it did look amazing! Great capture, perfectly framed!
