Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

Impressive is the right word. I've seen a few years ago a fim about the run of the glacier, 1 month in ten minutes, very impressive. A fab and courageous shot dear friend ! and a big V :)

Did someone say playtime???? my ears always perk up at this word...he he! :) yes, i will race you to touch the that beautiful blue ice! yeah, it would be neat to be able to speed up the movement and watch it on film. sometimes it blows my mind to think how slowly some things work! thank you for this river of ice, sculpted in slow-motion time! it's gorgeous!vote!

The rumble is trapped in the roar of fissuring and cracking ice. Don't leave out the sound track. Infrasound can appear on the other side of the earth. Maybe as a graviton artifact in a water tank in a cave.

I can see it moving!!! Maybe I'm drunk? ;) I think I'll stay snuggled in this blanket and let YOU touch the ice.
