Description

sticking with the reptillian theme from my last post, as people seemed to like my dino i thought id have a go at something similar. i thought id go more for realism this time round so the textures are about 90% photographic, being made up of high-res shots of a whole bunch of iguanas, the textures were blended together in PS, and the seams painted over with custom pattern brushes which i think worked quite well. the model has a pretty high poly count as i modelled quite a few of the scales rather than use bumpmaps for all the detail. i will definatly be modelling a body for this guy as i have over 100 reference pics of iggys, so modelling should be no problem. (ive had to turn off mipmap filtering as it was blurring all my fine details too much, the only downside to this is the moire patterning on the base of his neck, however this disappears when i render at a higher res so isnt too much af an annoyance) comments welcome...

Excellent modeling. So is all of that fine detail is modeled or are you using displacement maps?
