Description

Tonbo (Dragonfly) Toy, Mechanoid Vehicle. Tonbo was modelled and rigged in 3dsMax. The textures were produced in Photoshop. Tonbo was designed and built as a toy character/vehicle for use in a personal animation project. My objective here was to create a robotic, bipedal vehicle which had a personality all of its own, and which could function either with or without a pilot. I wanted to give the model an exotic, mysterious feel while maintaining the impression of a real-world origin. To this end, I chose a Japanese name and uncharacteristically colorful graphics.
