Description

Christian sets out on his journey to relieve this ever so heavy and onerous burden. As with the paintings that will follow, The Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory. The burden represents the spiritual weight which encumbers him. The path represents the spiritual walk. I hope you enjoy this series. This is the beginning a series of digital paintings from the book...The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. Most of the series will be in sequential order. There will be approximately 10 paintings. The painting...referenced from the original illustration by George Woolliscroft, Frederick Rhead and Louis Rhead...was first done (by me) as a pencil sketch and outline. The outline was then brought into PSP9 and painted. There are 3 picture tubes used: the greenery on the ground and tree, the clouds and the sparkles. There is a silght soft focus and the walls along the path have a leather effect which interestingly enough cause it to look like stones. Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day and may God bless you richly!...Cheryl

Though I've heard it refrenced countless times, I have to admit I know only the summary of the famous Bunyan story and have never read all of it. Your great illustration has rekindled my interest.
