Description

Hello Everyone... In this particular painting, Apollyon comes to battle Christian. Apollyon wrestled with Christian causing him to fall and drop his sword, saying, "I am sure of thee now!" and Christian began to fear for his life, but all was not lost. God would not have this and while Apollyon reached for his last blow (the lightning bolts in his hand), God gave Christian the strength to reach for his sword and said..."Rejoice not against me, O mine Enemy, when I fall, I shall rise."...and then he gave Apollyon a deadly lunge, giving him a mortal wound. Christian realizing that the wound was mortal then said, "Nay, in all these things we are more than Conquerors, through Him that loved us." And, then he gave thanks to his God. I am beginning a series of digital paintings from the book...The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. Most of the series will be in sequential order. This one is not, primarily due to the fact that when I began this painitng, I had not yet decided to do a series. There will be approximately 10 paintings. The painting...referenced from the original illustration by George Woolliscroft, Frederick Rhead and Louis Rhead...was first done (by me) as a pencil sketch and outline. The outline was then brought into PSP9 and painted. There are 3 picture tubes used: the greenery on the ground and tree, the clouds and the sparkles. There is a silght soft focus also. Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day and may God bless you richly!...Cheryl

Sorry for the late comment, just got back from the hurricane. Excellent, definitely one of your best, love the black and white against the color and the shading is particularly formidable. Well done!
