They had made the ridge before nightfall and descended down the other side along a very steep rocky path. Night had taken over before they reached the bottom and they decided to camp at the base of the cliff. The forest ran up to the cliffside and they found enough fallen trees to build a fire. Jaiya insisted it was safer to risk detection than to go without a fire in these woods. Nightsongs magical spells soon had the wood burning and a nice warm fire helped calm the nervous Sharra. To her, the forest was a scary place in which she never dreamed she might be spending a night. The sounds of the nightime insects and other small creatures seemed to engulf her senses. Jaiya tended to the fire as the others relaxed from their brisk pace they had kept to reach this goal. They had more days of travel in the days ahead and it was good to rest now while they could.
