Description

Skogarfoss is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in southern Iceland. It has a width of 25m and a drop of 60m. The power of the falls mesmerises and humbles. In response to the correct observation made by many members, I want to add that I persuaded two tourists to stand in front of the falls to get the comparative scale perspective. They, of course, were quite perplexed why I wanted them there at all !!!!

I went to Iceland for 2 days a year or 2 ago. We saw Gullfoss (= Gold Waterfall) and Thingvellir and Hveragerdhi and the Skrokkur geyser. We swam in a very warm outdoor swimming pool called the Blue Lagoon, which is warmed by natural volcanic steam.

The two small people are the final touch of this picture because this kind of landscapes needs an explicit detail to make us apreciate the size of the scenery. I've already seen this image (done by professional photographers) but they just forget this! So, even if you didn't include them at purpose, thanks to you, we know now what these waterfalls look like...

WOW! I remember as a child my mom telling me that Iceland was the beautiful one and Greenland wasn't - which never made sense to me. They should have reversed the names. This is so wonderful!
