Description

...another grass terrain experiment, using an existing file (picture posted last year). In this version, the many hundreds grass objects have been replaced by layered terrains. The only objects on the groundcover are the pale blue "forget-me-nots" from Toucan. The rest of the "wild flowers" are a textured polygon terrain. *My grass cover tutorial can be found in the freestuff section* The scene contains 31.5 mio polys, but these are mostly terrain polygons, making the file easy to handle and swift to render - in contrast to the earlier version, which was sluggish to work with and took a long time to render. Also, I've made the trunk textures procedural, IMHO they're looking good/better :) Vue 4, conifers made with XFrog (incl. hundreds of rendered alphaplane versions). A little touch-up with Photoshop CS. Rendertime 1 hr. 51 min, 1024 x 768 in "Final". Thanks for your comments on my last picture, hope you like this one also. Comments very much appreciated. Have a nice day. - Lars
