Description
Temple of Poseidon Hippodorus, the Sanctuary.
The ancient Greeks believed that Poseidon gave horses to mankind.
I used that concept to visualize an ancient temple.
In the sanctuary stands the great statue of Poseidon Enthroned and his gift, the horse .
The statue has ivory skin, painted and gilded clothing, and gilded hair & beard - in the traditional style.
