I have failed you and those dear to me, though it's cost me as I tried. Straining not to show the sickness, the pain and agony inside. Hiding behind masks of laughter, and pills meant to steal from time. Knowing what my future will bring, full of confusion and pain. Suffering loss of mind and body, trying not to go insane. Striving for each day not to be worse, crying as hope seems a crime. Leaning on you, depending on you, love given to such a heart. Too unstable for my own good, I relied on your from the start. It was never fair to ask you, this burden that will not cease. But it's getting harder to live, like someone, anyone, else could. Too ill to meet yours or others needs, love and all lost to this... disease.
