Description
Just some modelling for the Grand Space Opera Challenge over at CGTalk. You can view my entire work for it here.
What else? Wings3D for the modelling, standard render with a light dome of some 200+ lights. Still a lot to do in terms of both modelling and texturing, but I just loved the way it came out. They're two pieces, one is the building/launchpad and the other the ship. About 42-45k polys in all. Please let me know what you guys think. I know I have to make the lights a lot larger. Again, it's a texture-less WIP.

Hats off Drac!!
Bungalo
Looks grand for real :) Though light in this image makes it look like a tiny detail but I gues that won't present in the final render. Good progress. Wish You look on final work.

I LIKE the lights as they are. Small lights give a grand sense of scale, I say leave them, just add more. I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up with.

Excellent work so far! I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished. I'll probably be entering the 2D category but I'm so out of my league there :P Best of luck in the challenge over there!
Nukeboy
Some of your best work yet! I really have to start playing with Wings... I think your going to prove that wings is as much of a "big boy" toy as some folks have proven Bryce to be. Good luck!

Awesome.... Those lights in a scene will just make this ship look like a huge ship. I say leaven 'em as is. Very cool work Mihnea. You very well may put those high end modeling proggies to shame with your freebie modeler. lol Model on man. 8)

Exellent job! I'd say it doesnt need much more textures, as this baby already rocks! Now, i dont know much bout lightning (iam still a n00b) but its certainly nice

excellent work!!!

Very nicely done ! How did you get the lightdome shadows so diffuse ? Did you do it with post work,...........blurring the ground plane ? When I use light domes I always get shadow artifacts.

Very nice. I'm always a sucker for gizmos. :^)

Looks vunderbar so far Drac! I like the smaller lights too 'cause they up the apparent scale of your ship and model. The untextured render looks fab! You're doing us "Wingsters" proud!
Doublecrash
Darn cool, dude... I'd love to model buildings like this one.
