Description

I created this while I was waiting for a long render to finish. I wasn't going to upload this, since I wanted to upload the one that's rendering, but doesn't look like it will be finished tonight, so I'll upload it tomorrow. An old Bryce model I made from primitives (it's in my free stuff). The planet was created using a default Bryce sky and then using the banking option to flip it over, so the clouds are below you, but the sun stays in the sky. Added the mandatory flare in PS7. Thanks for viewing. Update:- Didn't really think about it, but it's the same ship that I used in my last picture, so this could be the before and that was the after picture.

Awesome image as always! One suggestion though: about Bryce's admittedly rather crappy starfields, have you tried taking a plane using the material "Cosmos"? With some experimentation, it produces really realistic results. Oh well, this is still great the way it is... just suggesting...

POV is really remarkable here, I like also the colours. Excellent stuff for a simply in-between-render.

Cool image!...if you had not mentioned how you made the star field....I would have have guessed it to be glitterato in PS7 plugins (flaming pear)

Agree with Englewolf; best POV here in awhile! I'm jealous now. Banking?!?!....an animation I did recently, had my camera riding piggyback on a rolling airship; as my craft went upside down, the sky turned slowly black and then back over and sunny again.

It's an old trick but you do it so well. So was it orbital decay or did some one miss read the altimeter???

This is fantastic. Simple concept, but the flipping of the sky is really great. And the model rocks. v
