Hi ~ my name is Gordon Arnold. I am originally from Croydon, 10 miles south of London, but have lived in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in the north-east of England for over thirty years.BIOThis photo of me was taken by my sister Wendy, aka Gabrielsdream, in September 2005 at the Alnwick Garden in Northumberland.
I've been taking photos since I was about nine years old, I don't specialise, it's just whatever appeals to me at the time! Since going digital, I have discovered the possibilities this offers, and am learning all the time.
My interests apart from photography are music, theatre, art, architecture and museums, travelling and always combined with food, glorious food!
Because I suffer from a rare incurable bone marrow cancer, and have just started a fifth course of very punishing chemotherapy, involving periods of hospitalisation, I am not around on Renderosity much at the moment.
Thank you for viewing.
~Gordon~

An imposing capture on a bright day! Well done! Here's the extra info you didn't want to overload your intro with! The Earl was sculpted by Edward Hodges Baily, R.A., afterwards chosen to create the even more famous statue of Nelson, in Trafalgar Square, London in 1839! Baily also worked at Buckingham Palace and many other notable and famous places.

I dont know Newcastle at all. Just love this image. I love the detail in the background and the way in which that detail manages to draw the eye, even over the monument itself. Great.
