well holy crap, i seen both photo and this, and you ca see the difference, the hair gave it away that it is a poser/postworked image, people doubt abullities like this cos the cannot grasp the basics!!! i am tottaly impressed by this, it is truely awesome! the face here is more rounder, the beard has less whitebits as in orginal photo (at bottom of beard) the hair is less messy! but it is a tru master piece!!!! for those that doubt are fools!!!! votes and eff favs!

Too much was said here, to much blame and congratulations, but for the fantastic artist capable to do this magnificent work who cares about the critics? i'm in awe for this work! too much post work to be called poser? plase! i already see some real heavy postworked images around the poser galleries but no one with this quality! this is the diference! hyper realism and a blessed talent! Excellent and my VOTE

Beautiful piece of work! Nice to see another variation to postwork and talent. I look forward to your next controversy (the best way to slam your nay-sayers!)!

actually it was through looking at Chris' real photo that made it obvious that this wasn't a retouched photo. This is fantastic stuff and an inspiration to all!

If this was done with a model, I sure would like to know which it was. The eyes are too imperfect (natural) to be any I've ever seen. If it is truly a model......I'd buy him. Should I pull out a credit card?

Oh my goodness!! What a beautiful MAN!! Uh, er! render!! I am sure all of this attention has gone completely to his head! You will just have to remind him that it is you who made him famous ;}}

I'm floored... its so incredible I can't even begin to start! You have a god-given talent that truly shows that the wall between reality and fantasy can be breeched. It's unfortunate that so many cannot trust in that concept and find inspiration in this. Please show us more of your beautiful work. The subject is breath-takingly handsome I might add. :)

I can't believe it! If I want to do the same with my antique camera I have first to spend a long time in making a casting to find the model I need and you, if you have it in your head, it is done! C'est trop injuste!

I think you made every woman who saw this say, "It's NOT a photo?!" and run away sobbing. Me included. This is beyond flawless; it's just so...you sure he's not real? sniffs

surely there are real artists out there that do possess such uncanny talent. Unfortunately this is not one of those cases. Look, you are obviously lacking in self-esteem and by presenting this photo-morph, while claiming it was really done entirely in Poser, you have garnered a lot of praise. So if it makes you feel better, great! You have succeeded on that count. But maybe now you will have enough confidence to try creating real art in the future. In your step-by-step explanation you allowed a fatal flaw to slip in your 3rd example frame:we can all clearly see a GHOSTED EAR and GHOSTED SHOULDER, both left over from your morphing process. No artistic explanation for it whatsoever. Obvious software artifacts. Keep practicing and maybe one day you will be able to fool us all. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, look for yourselves: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=797906&Start=1&Sectionid=1&filter_genre_id=0&WhatsNew=Yes

neotekian - hon I never said this image was made entirely in Poser... lol Other than that: must be really really hard for u to accept the fact that I can make images like this and u cannot. Oh well, dont worry , in time u'll get over it :)

rimbaudy

4:48PM | Wed, 24 November 2004

i love how addy deletes and reports someone (me) who proved that her "render" can be done (and probably was) with simple smudge and blur tools in photoshop over the photo. sad sad world. addy; like you tell everyone to hide your insecurity...grow up please eh? maybe then you'll stop hiding behind that expression and finally be able to come out and say "hey i do really good airbrushing/photoshop with photos!" instead of trying to fool everyone.

rimbaudy - first of all I am unable to delete u or your comments. Second u force me to tell u one more time: grow up hon and get over the fact I can make images like that the way I said I made them ... so yes it is a sad world cause ppl like u are in it.

Definitely worthy of my vote. :o) I am very impressed and enjoy viewing this image, regardless of this strange debate on the semantics of technique and whatever else... the talent and the resulting image are unmistakably art, in my humble opinion.

Thank u for such a "constructive" comment virtualicious but next time keep it for your self.

Amazing work and I'm not curious about the way you did it. It is just beutiful and that's enough for me. Just a critic: you have such an incredible talent, what's the metter if someone doesn't trust you? One again: great work!

Addy, I am late to the show, but I will give you my comments anyway for whatever they may be worth to you. I am so saddened to see our supportive community turn on you like this. As much as I have to agree with you in your response to rimbaudy I also hate to see you stoop to their levels and insults. I KNOW I will never be able to make images like that, but I will work towards it anyway. Please people. Moebius87 said it best: It's art, regardless of the technical details, appreciate it. Addy's entire gallery is a treasure. Addy, please don't let a few people's jealousy (or whatever is going in here) keep you from sharing your work with us in the future ok?

Falls over in his chair This is astounding to say the least, but I'm not in the business to call people liars. She obviously went to school for many years and has been blessed with a gift....how many images of photorealistic cars with HDRI renders have we seen? It's so hard to believe it can't be done with people given some time and loads of talent? I believe...and I want to believe, but I just wish I knew how! LOL Awesome, superb work..and don't let the clouds flood the sun. VVVVVV*

At first I thought this was a photo, but then read the info and was in shock to know it wasn't, I have seen one other person (which I'm sure there are more) but this one other person is just as good and no one says anything about their work. I'm personally impressed that people are this good and I'm not of course but I will stand by someone who is passonit in the art, If she says it was done all in poser and PS then by god why shouldn't people just beleive her and let it go? Some people feel they need to bring someone down for having a talent that they do not, so they try to make others feel like dirt cause they can't do this sort of art. I'm sure if those who feel the need to critaze others art sent that time practicing they could prduce a piece just as good or even better, but no they spend their tme cutting someone down for having a talent that they do not posses.
