Description

From last nights Lunar eclipse. Nikon D1 with Sigma 50-500 @ 500mm. Tripod mounted using self timer to avoid lens shake. Started out @ F 6.3 with a shutter speed of 320 and ended up at F 6.3 with a shutter speed of 1.5 seconds. The trouble with digital is evident in the noise at the ending of the series.

Had a cloudy day here too but even otherwise I doubt if I would be able to have captured this beauty. I think you have done a tremendous job my friend. Bravos!!:O)

gasp THANK YOU!!!! I SO much wanted to see the eclipse...only saw a few minutes of it...so this is HIGHLY appreciated! Your fotos are just outstanding and presentation is superb! Now, I shall lie here in the grass a bit and just gaze upon this gorgeous moon as it slips into darkness. I enjoy seeing it cloaked like this!! A+++++++++++ and vote!

You didn't state the ISO/ASA number you used which might help others. I still can't spot the American flag.
