This floral shot I dedicate to Rachel a.k.a. WiserAngel. She loves blue flowers and what flower is deeper blue than a gentian? Enjoy it, Rachel, it's all yours!
Even in october several flowers still bloom here. Like this fringed gentian (Gentiana ciliata), that blooms from august to october, in the valleys and on the mountains. The petals are folded in a special way, from being turned around into a star-form, so I decided to show you a top-view (inset) as well. Buds are just like people, they need time to unfold before they fully bloom! :)
